Mission Statement
The mission of the Institute shall be to provide services and support of all things related to immigration to persons of all ethnic and national background.

History
The International Institute was founded in 1919, part of the YWCA, as a social gathering place for war brides of World War I. This allowed these newly arriving ladies a place to socialize.
As the needs of newly landed immigrants changed, the International Institute split from the YWCA, purchased a house on Ashland Ave. and moved operations. The focus of the agency grew and the group of individuals also grew.

In 1963, International Institute moved to another house on Scottwood Ave.. The International Institute continued to serve the Ethnic Community with Immigration Services, English and a Second Language classes, Interpretation and Translation Services as well as hosting ethnic events and educational services. The International Institute was the sponsor and host of the International Festival of Toledo (second largest ethnic festival in the country) as well as Christmas Around the World.
Today, the International Institute is located on Tremainsville Rd in West Toledo. The International Institute continues to provide Immigration Services and Translation and Interpretation Services to our community.
